Sony PSP Go Release date 1st October

SCE boss Kaz Hirai called it "the worst kept secret of E3". The Sony PSP Go will be released in North America and Europe on the 1st of October for the price $249 and 249 Euros.

The redesigned handheld boasts a new sliding controls, a built-in memory of 16GB, Bluetooth support and the option to remove the UMD drive. It's 50% smaller and 40% lighter than the previous model, says Sony.

Sony will continue to support and market the UMD PSP alongside the new Sony PSP Go.

Users of the new Sony PSP Go will have the ability to download movies and games straight from the PlayStation Network for the handheld.
